Ultimate Bet Review

Player Traffic: 9,994 - 18,744
Our Ultimate Bet Review is that it is an over all fast well designed site. They were one of the original sites (est. 2000) and have had a lot of time to improve their site. They have games for any player skill level. However with all the things they have done right, they have had a very rocky life.

Lets first review Ultimate Bet's Pro's. They have Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, Antonio Esfandiari, Jim Worth, Freddy Deeb, Jack McClelland, John Vorhaus and Russ Hamilton. Now these are all great players, but we here believe that Phil Hellmuth has such a bad image that he actually hurts the Ultimatebet image, and he loves to promote UB. We know some people who actually won't play there because they believe that Phil will get some of their money from the rake. Its not sure if other people have the same reaction but it may be a reason for their stunted growth.

Compared to most other Card rooms, UltimateBet has more options for their players then any other site. They have more variety of games to choose, and lots of limits for each game. When you are actually playing in the game you can select several different views that best fit your style. They have a mini view that only shows the cards on a small strip, you can select the 3-D view and always be in the middle of the table or you can select the standard view. Now their table is slightly different then the online standard, which makes many people either hate it or love it. Some players have also found that placements of some buttons are not in the best of places, possibly because the designers were not a poker player themselves. Changes can be made if people email the support and complain.

For people who like to play multiple tables at once, their standard is 3 tables, but players can email the support and they will raise your limit to 5 games at a time. This is on a trial basis, if you have complaints about your reaction time this option will be revoked.

They have also made their site available to cell phone users with internet access. Now you don't need to be at home to play, you can play when you are traveling or on your commute to work. It is all accessed through one Ultimate Bet account.

UltimateBets game speed is one of the fastest online. The dealer spits out the cards slightly faster every hand and the general action of the game is better allowing for more hands per hour. There have been some reports of up to 15% more hands then the online average.

Some of the problems that they have been having is that they had a large number of upgrades to make everyone happier. This created a catastrophe when it caused their site to crash several times during the month. Many players lost faith in the stability of the Poker room and left. The down turn in profits may have forced some cut backs in their loyalty programs, thus further hurting their player base. Now that they have fixed the bugs in the update they are on a mission to regain the players they have lost. They are still a strong poker site with thousands of games to choose from. Now is probably one of the best times to join because of their desire to get back to where they were. Larger player bonuses and sign up incentives are a good sign for online players and bonus hunters.

Over all Ultimate Bet is a great poker room to play on. If you don't mind the differences in graphics and interface you will like the site. Their bonus takes longer then the average to earn, but its also one of the largest. They have lots of games from micro limits to $300 blinds. So if you are looking for a new site to play, this could be your new favorite.

Player Opinions and Reviews

Erik's Review

I am writing an Ultimate Bet review because it is in my top three favorite poker rooms online. I have played almost every established room and found Ultimatebet to be a reliable site that I always seem to do well on. My favorite games on UB are the tournaments. They have some very large guaranteed prize pools and one of the best structures for the raising of the blinds. For an over all rating I would give UB a ranking of 7 out of 10.

In my opinion the Ultimate Bet software is one of the best. I like their lobby setup and the entire interface of the site is easy to navigate when looking for a game. The tables are round unlike the standard oval and they always put you in the front middle seat. (no dealer picture in the middle) This has no effect on the game, unless you multi-table. Sometimes you need to overlap tables and want your players to be seated at the left and right sides so you can always see your cards.

Ultimate Bet poker also has a feature that allows you to play in a super miniature screen. The screen only has each player’s cards across one bar and does not have a table or any other graphics. I have found very few people who like this feature of Ultimatebet.

I also like that the cards you are dealt have very large numbers and suits. When I play more then one table at a time I often shrink the screen down to fit more in at once. The UB hole cards are some of the largest of any site, so they are easier to read then other card rooms.

They have constant bonuses all the time for players to reload their account but sometimes they come so often that you have trouble earning them. Another problem with their incentive offers is that they are released as you go. Other sites give them in lump sums or in regular intervals of $10, $20 or what ever they offer. But UB gives it out all the time so you almost don’t realize that you are getting any bonus. It’s nice that you don’t need to play all the hands required to get some of the bonus but personally I like to get it in lumps that are large enough to notice it when you earn them.

Like every other site there is an ultimatebet.com and ultimatebet.net versions one (the .com version) is for real money and the .net page is for play money players.

Ultimate Bet poker does not have enough games if you are looking to play multiple tables at a time. I like to play 4 tables at once and some times during off peak times it is difficult to find a limit with 4 full tables. If you are looking to play just one game its fine. They also have plenty of short handed games

Ultimatebet has a feature where you can use your player comp points in real games. If you have run out of money and have earned comp points you can play at a table for comp points with other comp point players. I wish all sites had this option. The more ways I can use my points the more they are worth to me.

Unfortunatly UB is one of the toughest sites online, especially at the higher levels. They have some of the largest games which brings in the best players from around the world. This seems to have trickled down to lower games. But this is not to say you can’t find some really loose games here.

In my opinion this site best fits high stake players and people who like short handed or heads up games. There are a lot of heads up tables with people waiting to play.

One feature that I don’t like is that there is a Bet Pot button during the tournaments. The problem with this button is it makes bad players better with out knowing why. Forcing players to choose their betting amounts gives information to other players. This button will sometimes take that away. The button in not necessary because any good player can bet the pot when they want bad players should need to learn it on their own.

They are one of the only sites online with Kill Pot tables. Kill pots are tables where if one player wins two hands in a row the next hand is played at twice the value. So if it’s a 5-10 with a kill the next hand would be played at 10-20. The blinds stay the same but the winner of the last two hands puts up a $10 Kill blind. This is a fun feature that adds action to good games.

I have never had any problems with the banking on Ultimate bet. There instant transfers and cash outs to a neteller account takes about 1 day. I think if you are looking for a new site this is one of the best ones out there. I used the UB sign up bonus code and got $650 as a free bonus. I am not sure it that is still the promotion but its one of the largest online that is for a top ranked site.

Thanks for reading my Ultimate Bet Review I hope it is helpful
